The current global crisis

Dear Colleagues,

Our prayers are with each and every one of you and we hope that all is well with you and that you are in good health as it is well with your souls. 3 John 1:2.

We would like to encourage you that you are not alone in this global pandemic. The Lord is with you and He will never leave you or forsake you. Hebrews 13:5. This is a time to draw closer to the Lord and he promised that if you will do that, He will draw closer to you. James 4:8.

For many of us, the crisis is only deepening and governments as well as the media are painting a very grim picture. The lockdown has been extended in many of the countries where we are working or where we have a presence. Many of us are finding ourselves in situations where our people and leaders are preparing for the worst i.e., for an economic and health disaster. However, the fact of the matter is that God is in control. Read and meditate on Isaiah 40:12-31. It is about the greatness of our God.  Now is not the time to panic or be fearful. Remember, He will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is stayed on Him. Isaiah 26:3. Even though we may feel completely out of control, we can put our trust in the one true God that is always in control.

I am sure that, no matter how bad things may get, we will get through this crisis stronger and better equipped for what lies ahead. We believe that The Lord is preparing all of us for greater and better things. As Dr Kruger often says, “The best is yet to come”. We are like clay in the hands of God and He is moulding and remoulding us so that we can be the best we can be for Him. Jeremiah 18:1-6.

Remember, the Lord takes care of his servants, “ …as a servant depends on his master; as a maid depends on her mistress; so we will keep looking to you, O Lord our God…” Psalm 123:1-2. We are servants of the Most High God. Think about this. Whom do you belong to? Whom do you serve? Thinking about this and the implications of it should greatly encourage you and comfort you.

It is at times like this, when our faith is being tested and refined, that we realize that our faith needs to be real. We cannot fake it in a time of crisis. This is what should distinguish us from the world who have placed their trust in governments and systems. We are quietly confident that God is in control and our every action, words and thoughts should indicate that our trust is in the Lord our God. Isaiah 30:15. Don’t submit to fear and intimidation. It is not of God, but of the devil. See Isaiah 41:10.

Let’s remember to pray for one another and strengthen one another with The Word of God. Everything is temporarily, “…but the Word of our God endures forever.” Isaiah 40:8. Please look up, meditate and think about these verses, Let the Lord Himself encourage you and strengthen you.

Please share this message with everyone in your department and anyone that serves with you in this ministry.

God bless,
