To kick off this year’s celebrations, on the 20th of January 2019, the Dai New Testament was launched in Chin State, Myanmar. Around 500 people attended the special Sunday service held for this event with Presbyterians, Methodists and a few other denominations present. The New Testaments were released and distributed to everyone present during the service so that they could immediately start using them when time came for the sermon.
After the service, one of the Dai translators, Paul, exclaimed, “The happiest event of my life!”
With others saying:
“Onwards, I can say I have a BIBLE in my own language.”
“It’s great news for our society and you all had been done it the great things for our Dai people. So proud of that!” [sic]
“God is good! This is our big day, great day, wonderful day and blessed day!”
